If you are mandated to start on the Work Programme with Working Links then after being referred by the Jobcentre you will receive an induction and later an interview where you will be assessed.

From that point on you will enter three categories.

1) You are declared job ready and enter the so called hub, all that means is that you will do intensive jobsearch when they call you in.

2) You are said to have moderate barriers to work and you end up in the academy.  Basically you will be in a room with others to do confidence building, application forms etc, Just like the new deal schemes but being called in now and again instead of spending the whole week attending.

3) You are said to have significant barriers to work and you end up in something called Compass.  Probably another room in the building but with more one to one meetings than in a group.

Silly titles as Academy for people being given group sessions on such things as confidence building.  It seems like these providers love giving something  a glorified title just like their workforce.
