Tarps & Temperatureby Simon - 21:47 on 05 August 2008During the day I am a big fan of indie talk radio on serius satellite radio and Pete Dominic has been going on about this new series on HBO called Generation Kill. Finaly I had a chance to watch it or rather listen to it on a fuzzy pict. Actually quite enjoyed it not the usual american gung ho were the best and everybody loves us bullshit!! If you get a chance to watch it do. you might enjoy it especialy if you would like to find out how a squad of men in a war act, I have no experience of this and have no desire to, I am sure just like most people. But it looked pretty realistic to me. Oh aye Monday morning, I am supposed to be talking about not bloody tv.
Another hot day I wanted to scoff a big free breakfast but couldn't, too hot for me too eat, drunk a lot of juice fired up the big green beast and headed of to the pulp mill about 1 mile away. As much as I wanted to take my tarps of the night before in the cool north carolina air, I stupidly asked and was told tarps must be on when I arrive on site, like a feart school boy I did as I was told! Its now over 35 and only 9am they didn't check to see if it was tarped and dumped the lot outside in a field. I was sweating like a (as my minister brother would say ) lady of disripute on a friday night! I think he might have a confession or 2 to make.... Well good exercise I suppose, I mean me not..... ach never mind!
An hour later the crane unloaded me, a good bunch of lads here as well so all was done quickly and efficiently. Loading out of Baltimore tomorrow 3 tractors for around Montreal area. Parked up at the Flying J in Ruther glen around 4pm local time.
