Introduction

Since being introduced to the game of golf at the old age of 2, yes I did say 2 in Newtonmore where I was brought up, there are 3 things you do when you are a young lad, learn to walk, then learn how to swing a golf club and Shinty stick, not necessarily in that order! My gran taught me to Golf as soon as I was big enough to hold a club, since then I never looked back and played as often as i could while growing up, to say I was hooked would be about right.
My home course obviously is Newtonmore Golf Course www.newtonmoregolf.com and I couldnt recommend it highly enough.  It is known as a popular course in the "Spey Valley" area along with Kingussie,Boat of Garten,Nethy Bridge, Grantown on Spey, Carrbridge, which is not correct, as any Scottish person should know there are NO valleys in Scotland, only Straths and Glens so they should be known as Strathspey and Badenoch golf courses.
Ok now that I have got that of my chest, I am in the unique position due to the job I do to be able to play golf in different parts of the USA and Canada so I have added a guide to the courses I have played and my personal thoughts on the said courses.  I am a great belever in that there is no such thing as a bad golf course, just some that are not as good as others!
Its always nice to play different courses just to get out of the cab for a few hours enjoy some fresh air and get some exercise.  I dont like the notion of taking a "buggy" when going for a round and actually think, if you are capable of walking then thats exactly what you should be doing while playing.
Just click on the name of the Golf Course and you'll see what I mean!
