Members are advised that the Club is to hold a special but informal evening on Friday 21st October to celebrate the inter-club achievements of our members in the 2016 season.  The members who took part in the successes of winning the local league and the LBA Top Six competition will be presented with their medals and/or small mementoes. All other participants who achieved success or near misses in inter-club competition will also be honoured by their fellow members. Everyone is invited to come along and join in the celebrations and applaud the participants in their successes.

NOTE: It is hoped that everyone who has still to pay for the tickets they booked for the Presentation evening (being held on 29th October) will pay their dues to the treasurer by the 21st as the caterer needs to have numbers confirmed in advance.

On a sad note I have to report that our old friend Ian Lawie passed away this weekend after a lengthy battle. Ian was for many years a very hard working Director, President, Secretary and latterly Honorary President of the Lanarkshire Bowling Association. He was a bowling member of Hamilton Bowling Club but was known and liked by every bowler who met him in whatever capacity he happened to be in, whether bowling or officiating. His curly white hair and beaming smile made him stand out in any company despite his lack of stature and his North Eastern accent was instantly recognised, welcomed and loved by bowlers at every club or event in the County and beyond. He was a stalwart worker for bowling at all levels of the game and will be sorely missed, particularly by those whom he regarded as his friend. Goodbye Ian, and thank you for being our friend.
