The 2-Bowl Pairs was won by David Lindsay & Murdo McGinness who beat Alan Nimmo & Robert Smith and the Rosebowl winner was John McFarlane.

LADIES SECTION

The Championship was won by Peggy Gibson who beat Betty Wotherspoon and in the 4-Bowl Pairs Effie Wallace & Vi Main were victorious over May McFarlane & Betty Johnstone. The Mrs J Black cup was won by Betty Wotherspoon

The SENIORS SECTION

Seniors Champion this year was William Wilson who beat Bill Corbett in the final.

 Championship - Graeme McGuiness beat Andrew Marshall in the final. The Jubilee Cup was won by George C Low  who beat William McGuiness for the title. The Nominated Pairs was won by the father and son combination of Graeme & William McGuiness who were victorious over John Welsh & William Corbett. The 4-Bowl Pairs champions were Alex Milne & Alex Arthur who beat Tom Condie & James McMeekin. The 2-Bowl Pairs title went to John Black & Greg Hampson who beat Alan Nimmo & Campbell Maxwell in the final. The Rosebowl was won by Jerry Ferguson.

LADIES SECTION

Ladies Champion Mary McPherson beat Margaret Corbett and the 4-Bowl Pairs title went to Ann Nimmo & Jean Crompton, victors over Jean Cowie & Margaret Corbett. The Mrs J Black Cup was won by Roberta Bell

The Monklands Senior Citizens B A singles championship was won by William Wilson and the Wm Corbett Shield was won by Caldercraig Bowling Club. The MDC Festival Mixed Pairs was won by Ann & Robert Nimmo.

GENTS SECTION

The championship was won by Graeme McGuiness who beat William Matthews in the final. The Jubilee Cup was won by James Purves who beat Graeme McGuiness.  Graeme was in action again in partnership with his father Bill McGuiness when they retained their Nominated Pairs title against Alan & Robert Nimmo. The 4-Bowl pairs champions for 1987 were Greg Hampson & John Armstrong who defeated Pringle Johnstone & Wm McGuiness. The 2 Bowl Pairswinners were Marshall Stewart & Jack Crompton who beat Robert Telford & Robert Nimmo. Finally, the Rosebowl was won by Jim Purves.

LADIES SECTION

Multiple champion Isabell Russell was victorious over Effie Wallace in the Championship final but the 4-Bowl Pairs competition was abandoned due to the sudden death of Peggy Gibson. The 2-Bowl Pairs final was won by Maisie McMeekin & Elsie Muirhead, victorious over Evalyn Ferguson & Isabell Russell. The Mrs J Black trophy was shared this year between Maisie McMeekin & Mary McPherson.

SENIORS SECTION

The Seniors Championship went to William Matthews who beat William Corbett in the final.

COMBINED SECTIONS

The Mixed Pairs Cup was won by Mary McPherson & Graeme McGuiness after beating Evalyn Ferguson & Jack Crompton in the final. George C Low (Nominated Mixed Pairs) Trophy was won by Ann & Robert Nimmo by defeating Maisie & Jim in the final. The Malcolm Mathieson Trophy winners were John Fowler, Pringle Johnstone, John Conner & Jack Crompton and the Glen Automatics Trophy was won by Mary McPherson, John Conner, David Lindsay & Jim Purves; The Robert Nimmo Trophy , better known as "The Old Yins" versus "The Young Yins"  was won this year by the Senior Section.

The 4-Bowl Pairs was won by Walter Davis & William Matthews who beat Arthur Maughan & Campbell Maxwell while the 2-Bowl Pairs victors were Jack Crompton & Hugh Goldie who beat Seve Haugene & Pringle Johnstone. The Rosebowl winner this year was James Milligan

LADIES SECTION

The Ladies Championship was won by Isabell Russell who beat Effie Wallace in the final and the 4-Bowl Pairs was won by Heather Johnstone & Isabell Russell with their defeat of Betty Wotherspoon & Ann Nimmo. The 2-Bowl Pairs was won by Roberta Bell & Margaret Corbett who beat Jessie Weir & Effie Wallace and the Mrs J Black (points competition) winner was Jean Fannon.

The Seniors Champion this year was Campbell Maxwell who beat Jim McMeekin in the final and the inaugural 4-Bowl Pairs champions were Marshall Stewart & Robert Telford who beat George Main & Matt Muirhead.

COMBINED SECTIONS

The Mixed Pairs Cup winners were Heather Johnstone & Alan Nimmo who beat Effie Wallace & Pringle Johnstone and the George Low Nominated Mixed Pairs trophy winners were Margaret & David McIntyre. The Malcolm Mathieson Trophy was won by Evalyn Ferguson, Tom Black, John Watt & James A Johnstone, the Glen Automatics Trophy winners were Jean Fannon, Alex Arthur, Andrew Marshall & Robert Nimmo and the Robert Nimmo Trophy winners were the Seniors Section.

INTER-CLUB COMPETITION

 Graeme McGuiness won the MBA Gents Singles Championship and the Ladies Triples comprising Vi Main, Jean Black and Effie Wallace won the Triples Championship. Bill Matthews got in on the act by winning the Monklands Senior Championship. There was also success in the SWBA Triples District Championships when Maisie McMeekin, Elsie Muirhead & Isabell Russell were victorious. Our Seniors also won the Monklands Seniors League Section 1. In the MDC Festival Championships Hugh Goldie won Gents Singles Championship whilst Ann & Robert Nimmo won the Mixed Pairs Championship. The annual match against Templeton Bowling Club with the W Corbett Shield presented to the winners came the way of Caldercraig Bowling Club.


1989

Mrs Isabel Lees, elder sister of Margaret Corbett and Betty Johnstone accepted the position of Honourary Vice President which was given in recognition of her friendship and benefaction over many years.

The Club Championship was won by James Purves who beat Jim Love in the final and the Jubilee Cup also went to James Purves after he beat John McKellar. John McKellar partnered Jim Milligan to victory over Tom Condie and Murdo McGinness in the final of the Nominated Pairs and in the 4-Bowl Pairs John C Black & William McGuiness beat Wm Dalziel & James A Johnstone to lift the title. In the 2-Bowl Pairs Alex Cooper & Robert Nimmo beat Wm McGuiness & David McIntyre and The Rosebowl was won by William Dalziel

LADIES SECTION

The Ladies Champion this year was Margaret Corbett who beat Effie Wallace in the final and the 4-Bowl Pairs winners were Effie Wallace & Roberta Bell who defeated Janet Dalziel & Jean Goldie. The 2-Bowl Pairs competition was won by Maisie McMeekin & Ann Conner and Maisie also lifted the Mrs J Black points trophy.

SENIORS SECTION

The Seniors Championship winner was Hugh Goldie who beat past champion William Wilson in the final. The 4-Bowl Pairs winners were Robert McPherson & Hugh Goldie who defeated Jim Steele & William Matthews.

COMBINED SECTIONS

The Mixed Pairs Cup was won by Heather Johnstone & Jim Purves, beating Jean Fannon & Joe Dalziel in the final and the Nominated Mixed Pairs winners were  Effie & Alex Wallace who beat Ann & Robert Nimmo in the final game. The Malcolm Mathieson Trophy was won by Janet Dalziel, Alex Wilson, Alex Wallace & Hugh Goldie and the Glen Automatics Trophy winners were Effie Wallace, Ann Conner, Harry Hunter & Alex Wallace. The Robert Nimmo Trophy was won by the Junior Section.

INTERCLUB COMPETITION

Caldercraig Seniors Section 1 of the Monklands Seniors League and Templeton BC won the W Corbett Shield The Advertiser Jack High Champions were the pairing of Isabella Russell & Robert Nimmo and the MDC Fesival Mixed Fours was won by Evalyn Ferguson, Jean Crompton,. Jerry Ferguson & Jack Crompton.

The 4-Bowl Pairs trophy winners were Edward Drummond & Jim McMeekin after beating Nils Larsen & Lawrance Scott in the final while the 2-Bowl Pairs was won by Graeme McGuiness & Campbell Maxwell by beating William Clark & George C Low. The Rosebowl was once again won by William Dalziel

LADIES SECTION

Jean Goldie won the Championship by beating Margaret Corbett in the final and the Jubilee Cup winner was Effie Wallace who beat Jean Goldie. The 4-Bowl Pairs winners were Helen Soutar & Mary McPherson who beat Roberta Bell & Jean Fannon and the 2-Bowl Pairs was won by Heather Johnstone & Jean Fannon. Jean Fannon also won the Mrs J Black Points trophy.

SENIORS SECTION

The Seniors Champion for 1990 was Campbell Maxwell who beat John Fowler and the 4-Bowl Pairs was won by John Welsh & William Matthews who beat Bert Hailstones & Wm Wilson. Bert Hailstones was this years winner of the R Telford Trophy

COMBINED SECTIONS

The Mixed Pairs Cup was won by Margaret Corbett & Hugh Goldie who beat Margaret Stewart & Graeme McGuiness. The  George C Low Trophy winners were Helen Souter & Graeme McGuiness who beat Jean & Hugh Goldie in the final. The Malcolm Mathieson Trophy was won by Ann Conner, John Watt, Tom Jackson & Jack Crompton and the Glen Automatics Trophy winners were Jean Cowie, Edward Drummond & William Corbett. The Robert Nimmo Trophy was won by the Junior Section

INTER-CLUB COMPETITION

The W Corbett Shield winners were Caldercraig Bowling Club and there was success in the SBA Triples District Championship final with a win for Pringle Johnstone, William Matthews & Robert Nimmo. The SBA Fours District Championship was also won with victory for Jerry Ferguson, Alan McGuiness, David McIntyre & Hugh Goldie. Both teams went to Northfield to play in the National Finals. The MBA Ladies Singles Championship was won by Effie Wallace and the MDC Festival Gents Champion was James Purves

The Club Championship was won by George C Low who beat David McIntyre in the final. George was also in the final of the Jubilee Cup but lost to Graeme McGuiness. The Nominated Pairs winners were William Matthews & Robert Nimmo who defeated Tom Jackson & Campbell Maxwell and the 4-Bowl Pairs winners were Joe Dalziel & James Purves with victory over Harry Hunter & David McIntyre. The 2-Bowl Pairs was won by Graeme McGuiness & Jim Purves who beat Alex Wilson & William Matthews and the Rosebowl winner  William Dalziel.

LADIES SECTION - President Heather Johnstone

The 1991 Ladies Champion was Jean Goldie who beat Effie Wallace and the Jubilee Cup was won by Margaret Stewart with a win over Helen Haugene. The 4-Bowl Pairs title went to Margaret Stewart & Eilleen McKirdy who beat Ann Conner & Effie Wallace. The 2-Bowl Pairs champions were Nan Maxwell & Effie Wallace and the Mrs J Black Cup was won by Mollie Stanfield.

SENIORS SECTION

The Seniors Champion this year was William Matthews who beat James McMeekin and the Seniors Pairs champions were Seve Haugene & James Love with victory over John Fowler & William Matthews. The R Telford Trophy for points won on rink days was won by John Hannah.

COMBINED SECTIONS

The Mixed Pairs Cup was won by Mary McPherson & Hugh Goldie with a win over Gloria Dalziel & William Matthews and the Nominated Mixed Pairs winners were Heather & Pringle Johnstone. The Malcolm Mathieson Trophy winners were Eilleen McKirdy, Ruby Sneddon & Jerry Ferguson and the Glen Automatics Trophy was won by Nils Larsen, Edward Drummond & Campbell Maxwell. The Junior Section were the winners of the annual match against the Seniors for the Robert Nimmo Trophy.

The Ladies Champion this year was Margaret Corbett and the runner up was Helen Haugene. The Jubilee Cup was won by Gloria Dalziel who beat Cathy Andrew. The 4-Bowl Pairs winners were Roberta Bell & Ruby Sneddon and runners up were Joan McKellar & Effie Wallace. The 2-Bowl Pairs was won by Ann Conner & Eilleen McKirdy and the Mrs J Black Cup winner was Nan Maxwell.

SENIORS SECTION

The Seniors Champion this year was William Wilson who beat Robert McPherson in the final and the Seniors pairing of James Milligan & Alex Weir were victorious over Seve Haugene & James McMeekin. The Bob Telford Trophy was won by Robert Gray.

COMBINED SECTIONS

The Mixed Pairs Cup was won by Mary McPherson & William Dalziel who beat Gloria Dalziel & Bill Matthews in the final and in the George C Low Trophy Evalyn Ferguson & Tom Jackson beat Eilleen McKirdy & Greg Hampson. The inaugural Fair Shield Competition was won by Drew McDonald who defeated James McMeekin in the final. The Malcolm Mathieson Trophy was won by James Marshall, John Conner & William Dalziel and the Glen Automatics Trophy winners were Ann Conner, Walter Davis, Robert Telford & James Love. The Robert Nimmo Trophy winners were the Junior Section.

INTER-CLUB COMPETITION

This year Caldercraig Bowling Club won the W Corbett Shield and the MBA Monklands Cup. The LBA Under 45's District Champions were Pringle Johnstone, Alan McGuiness, John McKellar & Jim Purves and there was success in the SWBA Triples District Championships which were won by Roberta Bell, Margaret Corbett & Jean Fannon. Caldercraig Gents also had their first Lanarkshire Leagues succes by the winning Div 13 title.

Club Championship winner was James Purves and runner-up John McKellar. The Jubilee Cup was also won by James Purves with Drew McDonald as the runner-up. The Nominated Pairs champions were Tom Jackson & Campbell Maxwell with the runners-up Andrew Marshall & William Shields. The 4-Bowl Pairs was won by Hugh Jones & James Purves with runners up Jim Love & Pringle Johnstone. The 2-Bowl Pairs was won by Jim Steele & Drew McDonald and runners up were Edward Drummond & James Purves.  The Rosebowl was shared by Alan McGuiness & Jim Steele as Joint Winners

LADIES SECTION - President Helen Haugene

The Ladies Champion was Heather Johnstone and the runner up was Effie Wallace. The Jubilee Cup was won by Effie Wallace who beat Margaret McIntyre in the final. The 4-Bowl Pairs competition was not completed but the 2-Bowl Pairs was won by Janet Dalziel & Ann Conner. Maisie McMeekin won the Mrs J Black Cup

The Club Championship was won by Adam Martin who beat William Dalziel in the final while the Jubilee Cup was won by George C Low with a win over James Preston. The Nominated Pairs competition winners were Alan McGuiness & Jim Purves who beat James Milligan & John McKellar. The 4-Bowl  Pairs was won by Alan McGuiness & Joe Dalziel who beat George Clark & Graeme McGuiness and the 2-Bowl Pairs winners were John McCutcheon & Drew McDonald after a win over Eddie Drummond & Donald McInnes. The 1994 "Rosebowl" was won by Robert Little.

LADIES SECTION - President - Margaret Stewart

The Ladies Championship was won by Heather Johnstone with a win against Margaret Corbett in the final and she was able to get the double by winning the Jubilee Cup over Mollie Stanfield. The ladies 4-Bowl Pairs was won by Ann Conner & Margaret Corbett after beating Hazel Johnston & Helen Haugene in the final and the 2-Bowl Pairs winners were Ann Conner & Cathy Andrew who beat Betty McKinley & Mary Hayes. The Points trophy (Mrs J Black Cup) was won by Helen Haugene

SENIORS SECTION

Adam Martin beat William McGuiness to claim both the Gents and the Senior Gents championships this year and he also partnered Jim Steele to success over John Welsh and Jim Milligan in the 4-Bowl Pairs championship. The Robert Telford (Points competition) Trophy was won by The Gents.

JUNIOR SECTION

The inaugural Junior Championship was won by Scot McIntyre who beat Christopher McGuiness in the final and the Rink Night Points trophy was won by Graham Gillespie.

COMBINED SECTIONS

The Mixed Pairs Cup winners were Gloria Dalziel & David McIntyre after beating Margaret Corbett & George C Low in the final and the one-day competition for the Nominated Mixed Pairs was won by Roberta Bell & Jerry Ferguson. Margaret Stewart & Drew McDonald were runners up.The Fair Shield Competition was won by Jim Steele with Andrew Marshall as runner up. The Malcolm Mathieson Trophy was won by Mary Hayes, George Clark & Hary Hayes and the Glen Automatics Trophy winners were Margaret McIntyre, Ann Conner, John Hanah & David McIntyre. The Young Yins won the Robert Nimmo Trophy.

INTER-CLUB COMPETITION

The  Nominated Pairs was retained by Alan McGuiness & Jim Purves with the father and son combination of John & Craig McKellar as runners up. The 4-Bowl  Pairs winners were William Andrew & Jim Purves who beat Robt Sneddon & Greg Hampson and the 2-Bowl Pairing of Bill Dalziel & George C Low beat Craig McKellar & Greg Hampson in the final. The Rosebowl was won by Bill Beaumont

LADIES SECTION -  President - Elizabeth (Betty) Johnstone

Effie Wallace won both the Championship and the Handicap competitions with victories over Isobel McGuiness in the former and Heather Johnstone in the latter. Roberta Bell and Effie won the 4 Bowl pairs by beating Betty McKinley and Margaret Corbett and in the 2 Bowl Pairs Ann Conner and Cathy Andrew had success over Janet Clark and Effie Wallace. Helen Haugene was the winner of the ladies Rink Game points competition.

SENIORS SECTION

Adam Martin retained his championship title by beating John Welsh and in the Pairs competition Jim Johnstone and Donald McInness were winners over John Conner and Adam. Willie Hastie won the Bob Telford trophy. 

JUNIOR SECTION

Scot McIntyre repeated his success of last year by defeating Graham Gillespie in the Junior Championship final and Chris McGuiness won the Rink Night points trophy.

COMBINED SECTIONS

The Mixed Pairs competition was won by Margaret Corbett and Bill Dalziel with victory over Betty McKinley and Robert Manson and in the Nominated Mixed Pairs one day competition Betty Johnstone and Bill Corbett beat Effie and Alex Wallace in the final. The Fair Shield champion was John McHutchison who beat Jim Love in the final and the Malcolm Mathieson trophy was won by Jean Crompton,  Edward Drummond, Hugh Jones & Robert Nimmo. The Glen Automatics trophy winners were Graham Gillespie, John Welsh & Jerry Ferguson and the Robert Nimmo Trophy was won by the "young yins".

INTER-CLUB COMPETITION

It was a case of "so near and yet so far" when in the National Final of the SBA Pairs our pairing of Alan McGuiness & Jim Purves were beaten by the last bowl of an extra end to deny them the National Championship. LBA Triples District Champions were Tom Jackson, William Matthews & Robert Nimmo and the Airdrie League K/O Fours Competition  was won by the Gents Section. Caldercraig The annual friendly match against Templetons bowling club was won by Caldercraig.

Andrew & Drew McDonald. The Rosebowl was won by Bert Hailstones.

LADIES SECTION - Ladies President - Betty McKinley

The Ladies Champion for 1996 was Janie Kyle who defeated Heather Johnstone in the final and she also had success in the Ladies Handical Trophy by winning against Margaret Corbett. the 4 Bowl Pairs winners were Mavis Drummond & Eilleen McKirdy (who beat Mary Hayes & Helen Haugene) and the 2 BowlPairs  was won by Evalyn  Ferguson & Heather Johnstone. The Mrs J Black Cup (points competition) was won by Margaret Stewart.

The 1997 Ladies Champion was Effie Wallace after beating Heather Johnstone in the final but Effie had to settle for runner up spot in the Ladies Handicap competition when she lost to Eileen McKirdy. In the 4 Bowl Pairs Maisie McMeekin & Effie Wallace had the beating of Betty McKinley & Janie Kyle and in the 2 Bowl competition the victorious pairing were Janette Clark & Helen Haugene. The Jean Fannon Memorial Triples was won by Nicola Reid, Alison Sears & Effie Wallace and Anne Conner won the rrink day points competition.

In the Senior championship Adam Martin regained the title by beating Jim Steele.

JUNIOR SECTION

Scott McIntyre made it four in a row when he beat Colin Gillespie in the final of the Junior Championships and he followed that by winning the Rink Night Points competition.

The Centenary Mixed Triples winners were Anne Conner, Jim Simpson & Jim Purves, the Malcolm Mathieson Trophy was won by Mavis Drummond, Terry McManus & Wm Andrews and the victorious team in the Glen Automatics Trophy competition for this year were Alison Sears, George Clark & Fraser Gillespie. The Robert Nimmo Trophy was won by the Junior Section

INTER-CLUB COMPETITION

The Gents Section of the club had an exceptional year with victory in Division 9 and Division 22 of the Lanarkshire Leagues competitions and also by lifting the John Laney Triples trophy.

In the 4-Bowl Pairs Alan Houston & James Purves overcame the pairing Colin Gillespie & David McIntyre while in the 2-Bowl Pairs Christopher McGuiness & Jerry Ferguson beat Andrew Kyle & Robert Nimmo

LADIES SECTION - President - Jean Gray

 Jean Crompton won the Ladies Championship when she beat Effie Wallace in the final then she completed the double by winning the Ladies Handicap competition by defeating Margaret Stewart. In the 4-Bowl Pairs Anne Conner & Isobel McGuiness got the better of Isobel McCracken & Helen Haugene and in the 2-Bowl competition the winners were Evalyn Ferguson & Effie Wallace. The Jean Fannon Memorial Triples was jointly won by  Betty McKinley, Mavis  Drummond & Betty Johnstone   and   the triple of Helen Haugene, Janette Clark & Evalyn Ferguson. The Mrs J Black Cup winner was Margaret Stewart.

John McHutchison had great personal glory this year by winning the Lanarkshire Champion of Champions competition  AND the Monklands Bowling Association Gents Singles Championship. Jim Anderson and Jim Purves added to the club's success by winning the Monklands Gent's Pairs title whilst the Gents Team continued the success story by winning the Lanarkshire League Division 8 title, the Monklands John Laney Triples Cup and the Airdrie League.

The Senior Fours representatives were  Ian Scott, Wm Shields, Jim Preston & George C Low who progressed to Northfield after winning the District competition. They lost to the eventual winners in the National 1/4 Finals. Chris McGuiness also qualified for the National Finals after winning the District under 25's competition. The MBA Gents Singles Championship went to Jim Purves and there was further success for the Gents Section with victory in the Airdrie League, The Airdrie League Knock-out Trophy, The Monklands BA John Laney Triples and by securing the Division 19 title of the Lanarkshire Leagues.

INTER-CLUB COMPETITION

The Monklands Gents Pairs Championship was won by Brian Orr & Alan McGuiness whilst the Gents Section of the club lifted the coveted Monklands Cup. Caldercraig were awarded the Monklands Overall Champion Club Trophy for the first time in our history and not to be outdone the Senior Section lifted the Monklands Seniors League Section 1 title. To round off a successful year the Airdrie League title went to Caldercraig Gents.

In the Gents Champion of Champions Competition Jim Purves beat George C Low and in the Nominated Pairs Alan McGuiness & Jim Purves beat Ian Chisholm & David McIntyre in the final. The 4 Bowl Pairs winners were Iain Lawson & Jim Purves and the beaten finalists were John Campbell & David McIntyre

LADIES SECTION - President - Audrey McIntyre

Audrey McIntyre beat Shona Chisholm to retain the Champions title and she again beat Shona to win the Handicap (Jubilee) trophy. The Pairs winners were May Wallace & Audrey McIntyre with a win against Kathleen Gorman & Margaret McIntyre in the final.

SENIORS SECTION - Convenor - Andrew Kyle

The Seniors Championship was won by Fraser Gillespie with a win in the final against Jim Preston but in the McMeekin Trophy final the roles were reversed when Jim beat Fraser. The Seniors Pairs winners were Bert Wallace & Jim Preston with Ian Baxter & Robert Stanfield the losing finalists. The Dan Turner Memorial Trophy winner was Bill Andrew and John Black won the R Telford Points Trophy

COMBINED SECTIONS

The Rosebowl winner this year was George McLachlan and the Mixed Pairs Champions were Shona Chisholm & Fraser Gillespie. In the Fair Shield Competition Fraser Gillespie defeated Gavin Chisholm in the final match and Audrey McIntyre beat John Campbell to lift The Kyle Trophy. In the Centenary Mixed Triples Janette Dalziel, Bill Andrew & Ian Chisholm were the winners and Scott Tait, Bobby Wallace and Willie Shields won the Mathieson / Paterson Charity Trophy. The Bowlathon winners were G McLachlan, M Stewart, M Prosser & F Gillespie

INTER-CLUB COMPETITION

 John Black, Andy Kyle, Jerry Ferguson & Jim Preston won through to the LBA Snr Fours Semi Finals but this was the only success this year.

The  Championship was won by Chris McGuiness when he beat his father Alan in the final and Alan lost out again when he was defeated by Brian Orr in the Jubilee Cup. Gordon Arbuckle conjured up a major success when he denied Jim Purves of another win in the Champion of Champions Cup competition. Gordon and his partner Chris McGuiness beat John Oliver & Bill Andrew in the final of the Nominated Pairs  and in the 4 Bowl Pairs Frazer McDonald & Jim Purves were succesful over Robert Kitchen & Alan McGuiness. The Two Bowl Pairs winners were John Turnbull & Derek Phillips with Rab Stanfield & Gavin Chisholm the losing finalists.

LADIES SECTION  President - Betty Keenan

Audrey McIntyre retained her Ladies Championship title with a win over Kathleen Gorman and in the  Jubilee Handicap Cup final May Wallace beat Mary Prosser. Audrey and May were paired together and they beat Jean Little and Margaret Dalziel in the Four Bowl Pairs competition. The  Two Bowl Pairscompetition was won by  Kathleen Gorman & Violet Shaw.

The Dan Turner Memorial Trophy winner was George C Low and the R Telford Points Trophy went to John Oliver

In The Kyle Trophy Audrey McIntyre beat Frazer McDonald and the winning team in the Centenary Mixed Triples was John Oliver, Jean Little & Audrey McIntyre. The Mathieson/Paterson Charity Trophy went to Len Tuffley, Wm Andrew & Ian Scott and the Junior section were the winners of the Robert Nimmo Trophy

INTER-CLUB COMPETITION

The Ladies Section of the club had more success this year when Mary Prosser, Shona Chisholm & Janie Kyle won the  BS Triples District Championship and so earned their lace at orthfield. The Gents Section were not to be outdone and although finishing as runners-up to Eddlewood in the  Lanarkshire Top Ten Championship they did have success in winning the MBA Laney Triples and the new Airdrie & Coatbridge League Div 1.

The new Gents Champion this year was  Alan McGuiness with a final victory against Gordon Arbuckle and his brother Graeme McGuiness won the Jubilee Cup by beating Brian Orr. Jim Purves once again won the Champion of Champions Cup by beating Jim Preston in the final. The McGuiness family were heavily involved when in the Nominated Pairs Bill & Graeme McGuiness beat Gordon Arbuckle & Chris McGuiness. The Four Bowl Pairs title went to John Campbell & Logie Armstrong who had success over Keir Turnbull & Alan McGuiness. In the Two Bowl Pairs Fraser Gillespie & Ross Busby defeated Derrek Phillips & David McIntyre

LADIES SECTION - President - Kathleen Gorman

Janie Kyle added to her list of honours by regaining the Ladies Championship by beating Helen Orr but in the Jubilee Cup Audrey McIntyre  beat Janie in a head to head battle..  The Pairs competition was won by  Margaret Dalziel & Violet Shaw with a final win over Betty Keenan & Audrey McIntyre.

The Dan Turner Memorial Trophy was won Jerry Ferguson and Fraser Gillespie won R Telford Points Trophy.

COMBINED SECTIONS

The Chairman's Trophy was won by May Wallace, Iain Lawson & Jim Simpson and The Rosebowl by John Oliver. The Mixed Pairs Cup winners were Audrey McIntyre & Ian Chisholm who defeated Helen Orr & Gavin Chisholm in the final. The Nominated Mixed Pairs Trophy winners were Janette Dalziel & Bill Andrew and the Fair Shield Competition winner was Bill Andrew with a defeat of Jim Purves. The Kyle Trophy was once again won by Audrey McIntyre who beat Fraser Gillespie in the final. The Mathieson/Paterson Charity Trophy top trio were Jim McAllister, Violet Shaw & George C Low and the Bowlathon winners were Violet Shaw, Ian Baxter & Robert Ferguson. The Robert Nimmo Trophy was claimed by "The Young Yins" (but only with  help from some Seniors)

INTER-CLUB COMPETITION

The Gents Section had double success by claiming two Lanarkshire Leagues. The "A" team lifting the  Div 6 title and the "B" team the Div 16

Other Individual Honours

Andrew KYLE was elected Secretary of District 20 of Bowls Scotland and the 1st International Honour for the club went to Audrey McINTYRE when she earned her 1st Bowls Scotland International Cap.

The Jubilee Cup was won by Logie Armstrong with a win over Jim Purves and in the Champion of Champions Cup Jim Purves continued his domination of this event by beating Alan McGuiness. The  Nominated Pairs title went to Ian Chisholm & Dave McIntyre with victory over Gordon Arbuckle & Chris McGuiness, the Four Bowl Pairs cup was claimed by Hugh Jones & Ian Chisholm with a final victory over Jim McAllister & Rab Stanfield and in the Two Bowl Pairs victory went Bobby Wallace & Ross Busby who defeated John Campbell & Alan McGuiness.

The Ladies Championship was won by Janie Kyle with a victory over Helen Orr and in the Ladies Jubilee Cup Janie continued her success with a win over Mary Prosser. The Pairs title went to Jean Little & Shona Chisholm after success over Helen Orr  & Vi Shaw in the final.

The Mixed Pairs Cup was won by Shona & Gavin Chisholm who beat Helen Orr & Rab Stanfield and in the Fair Shield Competition Derek Philips beat David McIntyre in the final.The Kyle Trophy winner was John Campbell  and Derek Phillips was the beaten finalist' The Centenary Triples was won by John Taylor & David McIntyre (there had been insufficient entries this year) and the Mathieson/Paterson Charity Trophy winners were John Wilson & David McIntyre.  Jean Little, Edith Millar, Violet Shaw & John Campbell won the Bowlathon and the Young Yins lifted the Robert Nimmo Trophy.

 INTER CLUB COMPETITION

Janie Kyle won the BS Ladies Singles District Championship and earned her place at Northfield and in the Monklands BA Championships the Gents Pairs was won by  Ross Busby & Jim Purves and the Junior championship by Declan Tobin. Our Gents Section also had a successful season by winning the Lanarkshire League Div 5 and Div 15 Championships, the Monklands Cup and the Monklands Overall Champion Club Trophy which all found their place in the trophy cabinet beside the Airdrie League Knock-out Trophy and the Airdrie & Coatbridge  Leagues Challenge Cup

The Gents Champion this year was  Alan McGuiness and the runner up was Jim Purves The Jubilee Cup was won by John McHutchison and again Jim Purves came second. The Gents Champion of Champions Cup however was won by Jim Purves who beat Dave McIntyre in the final and the Gents Nominated Pairs was won by Ross Busby & Logie Armstrong wirh Gordon Arbuckle & Chris McGuiness in runners up spot. The Four Bowl Pairs champions were John Campbell & Alan McGuiness who beat Hugh Jones & Gordon Arbuckle and the Two Bowl Pairs was won by Robert Kitchen & Logie Armstrong by beating Robert Stanfield & Robert Ferguson in the final.

LADIES SECTION - President - Helen Orr

The Championship was won by  Shona Chisholm and the beaten finalist was Pamela Turpin. The Jubilee Cup winner was Janie Kyle as she stopped Shona Chisholm frrom achieving the double and the Four Bowl Pairs winners were Elaine Moxen & May Wallace who beat Jean Little & Shona Chisholm in the final.

Hugh Jones outplayed George Low to lift the Seniors Championship and in The McMeekin Cup David McIntyre also beat George Low to claim the title. George, partnered by John Wilson also came in as runner up to Jim McAllister & Dave McIntyre in the Pairs championship. The Dan Turner Memorial Trophy was won by Andrew Kyle and the R Telford Points Trophy winner was John Campbell.

The Mixed Pairs Cup winners were Shona & Gavin Chisholm who beat Shiela McLaughlan & Ian Baxter in the final and in the Fair Shield Competition Derek Phillips beat Ross Busby in the final. The Kyle Trophy was won by Robert Stanfield who beat Martin Carroll in the final. The top team and winners of the Mathieson / Paterson Charity Trophy were June Simpson, May Wallace & Willie Shields and the Bowlathon winners were Mary Prosser, John Taylor, Kevin McLoughlin & George C Low. The Young Yins won the Robert Nimmo Trophy.

INTER-CLUB COMPETITION

The LBA Triples District Champions were Ian Chisholm, Dave McIntyre & John McHutchison. The 2015 Div 5 winners of the Lanark Leagues were this years runners up to Orbiston in the final of the League Cup competition but the Gents  excelled when defeating Eddlewood in the final of the LBA Top Six Competitiion   The MBA Ladies Singles Championships was won by  Janie Kyle and the Gents Section won the Monklands BA Laney  Triples by  beating Airdrie Central in the final. The Gents continued their success story by winning the Airdrie & Coatbridge League Division 1 as well as the  the Airdrie League Knock-out Trophy. Winners -

GENTS SECTION -  President  -  John Oliver

Alan McGuiness made it three championships in four years when he beat Ian Chisholm in the final but Ian had the consolation of getting the better of Jim Purves in the final of the Jubilee Cup Competition. Jim has an enviable record in the Champion of Champions Cup  competition and he added to his success by beating Gordon Arbuckle in this year's final. In the Nominated Pairs competition final Alan McGuiness and Jim Purves  lost out to Graham Gillespie & John McHutchison but in the Four Bowl Pairs Alan, partnered by John Wilson, added to his success with a win over Ian Chisholm and Garry Taylor. In the Two Bowl Pairs  The  beat Ian Chishom & Brian Orr.

 LADIES SECTION - President - May Wallace

The Ladies Championship  final also went to the defending champion from last year when Shona Chisholm beat Elaine Moxen, but in the Jubilee Cup  she lost to Helen Orr. Shona and Elaine Moxin were successful in this year's Pairs competition when they beat Pamela Turpin & Morag Donald.

The Seniors Championship was won by David McIntyre when he beat Robert Ferguson in the final but in The McMeekin Cup  Robert had the consolation of beating David in the final. The Seniors Pairs  championship was won by John Jarvie & John Campbell who beat Bobby Wallace & Robert Ferguson. The Dan Turner Memorial Trophy was won by John Black and in the Robert Telford trophy the winner after a very competitive season was John Wilson.

The Chairman's Trophy was won this year by Robert Murray, Guest; Bobby Wallace & Bill Andrew and The Rosebowl  by Kevin McLoughlin. The Mixed Pairs Cup  winners were Janie Kyle & Brian Orr who beat Shona Chisholm & Ian Baxter in the final and in the Fair Shield Competition it was David McIntyre who came out on top in the final against the winner of the past two years, Derek Phillips. The Kyle Trophy  was won by Derek Phillips after beating John Campbell and in the Mathieson/Paterson Charity Trophy it was the turn of  Shiela McLaughlan & John Campbell to claim the title. The Bowlathon was won by John Oliver, Robert Kitchen, Shona Chisholm & Ian Baxter and in the Robert Nimmo Trophy  the Ladies were invited to take part for the first time in an effort to bolster the Young Yins chances  but the experience of The Auld Yins was sufficient to win the trophy this year.   

INTER-CLUB COMPETITION 

There was not much to celebrate this year but the Gents Section did successfully defend the Monklands BA Laney  Triples competition.
