There was a very large number of club members present at Airdrie BC this morning to support Declan Tobin, our junior representative, in the final of the Monklands Bowling Association singles championships. They were well rewarded with a keenly fought and highly entertaining game between Declan and his Greengairs opponent. Although the scores were level at 11 shots each at one point  the initiative was almost always in Declan's favour and he completed a very fine victory. He was presented with his trophy by the MBA Vice President and it was the perfect way to mark his sixteenth birthday.

Declan personifies the future of bowling at our club but there was evidence of the continued future of bowling at Aidrie Central with two of the next generation of the Prunty family. The cousins,  the children of Bryan and Jamie Prunty just failed in the Pairs final against their much older and more experienced opponents from Garrowhill. They are only 7 years and 10 years old but don't say you haven't been warned.
