For the past week or so the club has been involved in the "Buchanan Sixes" at Coatbridge indoor. As there is a limited number of club members who are still members of the indoor club a couple of former members were brought in to make up a team and they did a fantastic job. Gordon Arbuckle (singles), Ian Scott and Alan McGuiness (pairs) and Jim Preston, Jim Purves and Chris McGuiness (triples) had victories over Airdrie 2, Airdrie Central 2 and Gartcosh to reach the semi finals where they met and beat the Airdrie 1 team. In the final, played this afternoon, they were up against a very strong Airdrie Central 1 team but had to settle for the runner-up position when they were beaten by 2-1, with a last bowl victory in the pairs being their only success. Well done our lads.
