We are holding a community quiz night at Austerfield Study Centre on 20th March from 7pm. Tickets are £5 each and the maximum size for a team is 4 members. There will be a licensed bar and tea, coffee and soft drinks available to purchase, please feel free to bring along any snacks to share between you. All the proceeds raised from the evening will be used to purchase a second defibrillator for the village.
The annual Christmas lunch event for senior residents will be held at The Ship Inn Newington on Monday 2nd December at 12pm. Invitations will be sent out in November, if you don't receive an invitation but are eligible to attend, please contact a Council member.
Annual Village Show
Thank you to everyone who attended and took part in the village show on Sunday 15th September. We raised £106.40 on the day and have donated this to Austerfield Study Centre and Louise Hartshorn who is raising money for Young Minds.

Annual Village Show
The village show and Scarecrow event will be held on Sunday 2nd September 2018. All residents should have received entry forms, if you need extra copies please contact the Clerk, download a copy here or collect one from Austerfield Study Centre. This year we will be running a bar and barbecue as well as providing tea, coffee and cake inside the centre. All proceeds from the event will be donated to a charity chosen by residents. Please keep checking the website and Facebook page for updates.
Pensioners Christmas Lunch
The Christmas lunch will be held at The Ship Inn at Newington on Monday 4th December 2017. Invitations are being delivered to all elgible residents this week; if you have not received an invitation and are over the age of 60 please download a form from this page or contact a member of the Council. Please hand in your menu choices by Monday 27th November
Village Show and Scarecrow Competition
Thank you to everyone who participated and attended the village hosw on Sunday 10th September. A total of £240.64 was raised from stallholders and refreshments plus £760.00 from Jim Leech who organised the raffle and held a race night at The Ship Inn Newington. This means we now have £1,000.64 towards a community defibrillator. The Parish Council would like to express thanks to Jim for his help with raising funds for a very worthy cause.
Well done to the Bagilhole family who won the scarecrow competition with their fantastic entry of a scarecrow being eaten by a shark. Images will follow of all the winning entries.
Pensioners Christmas Lunch
The Parish Council hosted a Christmas lunch for the pensioners within the village on Monday 4th December at The Ship Inn Newington. Once again the event was enjoyed by all and the Parish Council would like to thank The Ship Inn staff for their fantastic service and hospitality.
Thank you to everyone who attended the village show on Sunday 25th September and all the volunteers who helped organise the event.
The village show for 2017 is to be held on SUNDAY 10th SEPTEMBER at Austerfield Study Centre so please make a note of this date.
Tour De Yorkshire
The Tour de Yorkshire has been and gone and was well attended in Austerfield. The vilage looked superb with all the bunting and bikes. The Parish Council would like to thank all the residents who took part in making bunting and spraying the bikes. Fingers crossed that the tour comes through the village next year!

On Saturday 26th September the Parish Council held a village show at Austerfield Study Centre. The show was held alongside the Apple Day event.
The Parish Council welcomed everyone to come along to the show and enter homegrown and homemade produce. The show was very successful and images of the entries can be seen below.
