QUESTIONNAIRE:

Late in 2006, we distributed a questionnaire to all members of the community in an attempt to determine what features and facilities a community woodland might need. Thank you to all who responded.

We held a public meeting on the 22nd January 2006 to discuss the results of this questionnaire. Thank you to those who took the time to attend this meeting. For those who were unable to attend, 346 questionnaires were distributed; from these we received 127 responses, i.e. 37%.

Of these responders, 66% supported the creation of community woodland (41% were strongly in support).

Based on this positive response, a consultant was appointed to appraise the suitability of any woodland(s) to meet the community’s aspirations. The responses to the various questions addressed, and the additional comments made by many of the responders, formed the basis for this process.
