I spoke to Gwyn via Satphone, they were in the strong winds I had forecast earlier.
He wanted to know how long they could expect it to last.
Bad news, the outlook for the next 24 hrs is the same!

At the time of talking to him they were in sight of the Irish coast (Now in Sea Area Fastnet),150  miles from their destination (Kilmore Quay) with a force 8 from the South. the wind is due to veer round to Westerly within the next six hours, remaining as strong
Entry into Kilmore Quay will be slightly easier than with a Southerly but it must be damned uncomfortable out there!

Reminiscent of our entry into Bermuda!!
