Christmas Post
20 December 2014

Anstruther Rotary delivered Christmas cards again this year and  this happy group of ‘postmasters’ is pictured outside Govan’s Optometrist shop in Anstruther – the main ‘sorting office’ for this year’s delivery service. Left to right are Bill Henderson, organiser and co-ordinator Andy Matthew, Derek Mathie, Bill Batchelor and David Partington.

A little over £3,700 was raised for charities and other good causes – and nearly 15,000 cards sorted and delivered around the East Neuk towns and villages stretching from Elie to Crail. It's a service that has been successfully run for each of the past 27 years – although no doubt responsible for a few sore feet!! A guess is that a half to three-quarters of a million cards will have been delivered in total over those years.

Anstruther Rotary would like to thank everyone who used our delivery service for their generosity and a special thanks to Govan’s Optometrists for allowing us to use their premises once again. A very special thanks too to friends and family who helped to make it all possible.

The smile on Andy's face in the lower picture makes clear that deliveries have finished for 2014!

A Happy Christmas to everyone.
