Crail Primary School in Quiz Success
18 June 2014

The Rotary Club of Anstruther would like to congratulate Crail Primary School for an outstanding performance in the annual Rotary Primary Schools Quiz - an event that has now been running for over twenty-five years.

The Crail team of Frank Fry, Daisy Singleton, Jonathan Haenner, and Frankie Livesy-Stephens, took a hugely successful and very well deserved second place in the hard-fought finals of the competition. The finals took place in the Beach Ballroom, Aberdeen and every one of the sixteen finalist teams had already performed brilliantly to get so far. Other parts of Rotary in the UK run similar events, but this one is unique, attracting as it does so many schools from such a large geographic area. This year more than five hundred teams from all over the north and east of Scotland took part, with the finalists from as far afield as the Isle of Skye, Inverness and Fife.

As Anstruther club president Alastair Graham said, ‘we are very proud of every pupil who took part. The standard of the competition is exceptionally high and we are delighted to see Crail right up there at the very pinnacle of achievement. Very well done and thanks to everyone who helped to make the competition such a great success’.
