Olave's Diaries
This Website has been set up to hold the transcriptions of her Diaries, 1900 - 1977.
They are being transcribed by a team of volunteers, a month at a time - about 932 months in total.
Olave's handwriting is sometimes not readable, and the text it replaced with [ ? ], so if you come across that, do ask, giving the date of the entry, and the scan can be sent to you to "have a go".
As transcription is completed for a year, that year will be added to the Library as a plain text document, as this WebSite cannot hold formatted WORD filed with pictures and references; but these text files hold the content, and are searchable. If you would like a copy of the WORD file, just ask.
There is a WebSite here that is about Olave, but does not have room for her Diaries.
What has so far been "put up" on that WebSite can be found here, but will eventuall be transfered to this WebSite, and this Page will be updated.
It is "a work in progress" - don't hold your breath !

No clearer reasons for the recording of History have ever been enunciated than these words :

Olave kept a diary from 1900 until her death in 1977. The diaries are held in safe-keeping, and have now been scanned and are being transcribed, and the text is being posted, month by month, starting in January each year, so the number following the date is the number of months completed, and where the number is not zero, the date is a Link you can click on to go to that Page. When a year is complete, there will be no number, and the plain text can be found in the Library.
Months so far transcribed (out of over 900 total) - just over 800 - so about 90% done.
