This WebSite contains the Diaries of Olave St. Clair nee Soames.

She was born in Wingerworth, near Chesterfield in Derbyshire on 22nd of February, 1889, the youngest of three children..  

I guess she was given her first diary for Christmas, 1899, for the first of these diaries is for 1900, when she was nearly 11. The diaries run until just before her death on 25th June, 1977.

The Diaries cover 77 and a half years, about 932 months.  They have been scanned, year by year, and are now being transcribed, a month at a time.  There are still over a hundred to be done, so if you would like to help, please Contact Us.

The transcriptions are then tweaked, formatted, references added, etc., and then posted here. 

Your comments / additions to the Diary entries are invited, and if they add to the Diary story will be inserted as footnotes as appropriate.
