Ronald and family emigrated to Perth, Australia, they left England by aircraft, the cost was £10, the flight had 19 stops. on arrival in Perth, Ronald's first job was to help build a prison for the Police force in the desert. Dorothy was a bookkeeper at a garage owned by an Italian who could not speak English. They left Perth in October 1968 to live in Sydney, it took 6 weeks by train.

Ronald died on the 24th of August 1986 in Sydney, Australia
