Harrogate Cosmos 2 - 4 KDR

Having entered a Sunday 2^nd team for the first time in years comprising of last years under 17s it was at first glance that this was a team with good individual skill but lacking the physical attributes to compete at this standard. Harrogate Cosmos looked big and powerful and it was no surprise when they took the lead after 5 mins with a cross come shot that deflected in off the post. It looked at this point that it was going to be a long afternoon for the youngsters but to give the youngsters credit they kept passing and moving thus not getting involved in a physical battle with the opposition and managed to keep the score at 1 nil at half time.

The teams turned round with Deighton kicking up the hill and it was not long before Cosmos had doubled the lead with a wicked shot that rebounded of the Deighton keeper allowing the forward to follow up to tap in to the net.

But what was to come was quite outstanding with Deighton sticking to the game plan of retaining the ball they began to tire the Cosmos team out and with a quick fire hatrick from the lively and skilful Dom Hines and  Eddie colling adding another ensuring all 3 points for the youngsters of Deighton.

Great sings for the coming season and with a couple of older additions, this team again could be the surprise package in this league.
