Marlins' enterprise proved last night that passion has the victory when the winds of desire and inspiration ride next to the audacious one! 29 April 2009 Florida Marlins 7 New York Mets 4From a jubilant success, the night before last, to a grievous disappointment, the next night, the Mets were left like a cinder in a dying fire which was in huge need of fresh fuel to produce ardour and desire on the field of playing as they failed to defeat the Marlins at Citi Field last night. Opening hurler, Livan Hernandez, performed well on the mound as he merely allowed the Marlins two runs and three hits, including a gargantuan homer by Jorge Cantu in the fourth, while striking out five batters in five innings; his team was still ahead before Manuel decided to shorten his good work by calling upon the bullpen to deal with the rest of the game. A bad move in my view, however, since it was the same old story, as in times past, as Parnell, Green, Stokes and Feliciano failed once more to protect the lead and the good work of Livan Hernandez was reduced to ash as the Mets succumbed to the power of the Marlins' drive which enable them to take the spoils of the raid. Final score: Marlins 7 Mets 4.P. Figueras
