THE 'COMMITTEE'
Notorious - Infamous or beavering away behind scenes they provide a multitude of skills to ELAG - They live in the Lock & are all volunteers (& possibly mad) - It is the people on the ELAG that make it special - Why not join us & be one of them - Or rather - ONE OF US?
"Strength does not come from physical capacity it comes from an indomitable will." Mahatma Ghandi
Dave Knight - Chairman - You can read about Dave in 'Lock People' - He has chaired the group for 12 years - Mainly does the traffic assessments for the group & some of the planning & is particularly clever on infrastructure - He takes responsibility for all ELAG's work & approves all submissions & press releases (a brave man indeed).
Beth Pedder - Vice Chair - Has worked with Dave to evolve the Action Group to be able to tackle most issues that the Lock has or will face - The 'Campaigner' she is co-ordinator & her speciality is consultation & drawing together the views & various work of many into a single & detailed (if often long document) - the Environment - Planning Legislation & sustainability - Council Procedure & the press are her other specialities (& of course 'Campaigning').
Pat Waller - Treasurer & Co-Secretary - Has been the ELAG treasurer for over a decade - She is also the lead on the legal side of many other ELAG's issues particularly with funding & S106 agreements & assists with research
Kate Hockley - Conservation Lead - Kate was a key member of ELAG & the Conservation Group & took the Lock in her stride; working closely with Beth & other members advising the group on conservation aspects & open spaces & liaising on planning & writing a lot of letters. Kate has now moved & we wish her well in her new life & thank her for all her hard work over the past years - We miss her already & consider her an 'Honorary Lockie' - She is always welcome in the 'Lock' - Thank You
If you would be willing to take on Conservation Lead for us please let us know - Thank You
Donna Landsfield - Secretary - A newer member from EIV - She has fitted in brilliantly & been enthusiastic about getting involved in our area & finding out how to make a difference.
Tez - Younger Persons Lead - Our youngest Committee member at just 20 - Enthusiastic about getting services & community provision for the younger members of our community - She has brought a bit of zest & vigour & young eyes to old issues.
Martin Shepherd - Transport Lead - Martin is involved with most issues that ELAG deal with - Also a member of the Conservation group he often takes the lead in raising issues with the MP & has written on Planning - Listed Buildings & particularly Public Transport.
Dorthy Coleman - Older Persons Lead - Again a newer addition to the Committee giving us a view of issues for older residents including transport
& services.
