Deek, an ever present at the Auld Boy's Championship, has recently let his golfing membership lapse but still enjoys his day out at the ABC. In 2007, off the 15th tee,  Deek hit one of the all time classic drives in ABC history. After hitting a peach right up the middle of the fairway his playing partners gazed up the middle in disbelief. However Deek's own eyes were fixed on his carbon shafted driver which was soaring through the air heading straight up the middle of the road towards an oncoming vehicle. Luckily it pitched just before the car and caused no damage to the vehicle as the wheels ran over the top of it. Equally miraculous is the fact that it caused no damage to the driver and he still uses it to this day!!

Deek also takes part in the annual Pub Olympics with his playing partner Paul Kemp. Although Deek acknowledges they are less talented than their opposition, an inspired performance last year by Deek saw him and Kempy become the 2010 Pub Olympic Champions for the first time since 2007.
