Gotcha! part 3
This (poor) photo shows our first sighting of a juvenile woodpecker at our peanut feeder. I had stopped putting out seeds and nuts at the end of April when my winter supply of birdfood ran out. After reading that adult woodpeckers 'teach' their young to feed from peanut feeders in early summer, I put out more nuts. For two weeks only the usual tits and finches came to the feeders. Then, earlier this week, the adult birds returned with their offspring.
