Donald and Jocky were here on Tuesday to plant up the baskets and containers with summer bedding plants. Just on time, the rain came on Wednesday to give the garden a much-needed soaking. Today, the damp and humidity brought out the midges, flies and all manner of flying insects. (The swallows will be swooping over the pond this evening!) And, just back from a dogwalk, I see the outdoor thermometer reads 22°. Has summer arrived on nearly the last day of May?
