Gotcha!
After weeks of trying to capture this elusive Great Spotted Woodpecker on camera, our tall son-in-law came to the rescue this morning. 'Woody' (or 'Miss Woody' according to my husband) visits the peanut feeder several times each day, but flies away at the first sign of movement near the kitchen window. The finches and tits are flocking to the nut and sunflower feeders, but the blackbirds and robins are frustrated by our lack of a hanging tray feeder this winter.

Update (9.1.08): We have more than one woodpecker coming to the feeder. We have seen both male (with red head patch) and female (without patch) .

Update (10.1.08): We saw both male and female woodpeckers together at the same time twice today.
