After several nights of hard frost, the garden looks eerie and icy in the morning light. The branches of this contorted hazel are covered with ever-lengthening crystals of ice. In the absence of snow, the scene is beginning to look a bit like Christmas. (Unfortunately, the forecast is rain by Saturday, the 22nd.)
