Other than keeping the greenhouse frost-free, I've not been doing much in the garden for the past month. Now that life is getting back to what we call 'normal' after the holidays, I can sit down with my gardening catalogues and create a flowering plan for the coming summer. Will last year's dahlias and chrysanthemums last another summer? Should I order the same bedding plants as last year or try some new varieties? What annuals do I want to grow for cutting? What new salad leaves should I try? (How do I discipline myself not to order half the items in the Sarah Raven catalogue???)
