A summer favourite flower

Each summer we look forward to true-blue blossoms of the agapanthus. Originally, we planted two ceramic pots on either side of the garden house doors. In spite of our sometimes-frosty winters, the agapanthus have sailed through the freezing temperatures to blossom more profusely the following year — until last winter. This spring the pots were replanted with pink-tipped white agapanthus.

But, we haven't lost our blue blossoms. Seedlings from the original plants continue to spread in the gravel along the bottom of the brick wall and the edge of the upper pond.
