'Grace Darling' is one of many potentillas in our garden, and she blooms her heart out from late spring to autumn. She and her 'mates' with pink, yellow or cream blossoms have found their way into all corners — whether we planted them there or they reseeded themselves.

Grace Darling was also a real-life heroine who — in 1838 — assisted her lighthouse keeper father in saving the survivors of the steamship Forfarshire which sank in a fierce storm. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this potentilla goes to the RNLI.
