It's lilac time
There has been a scent of lilacs along the Causeway these past few weeks. The large and heavily-scented trees that overhang the wall of Clunes House have been in blossom for some time. Our two trees bloom a few weeks later, but bring welcome colour and scent to the garden just as the last of the spring bulbs are fading.
Unfortunately, our white lilac has been completely over-shadowed by an Acer 'Crimson King' and silver birch and no longer produces any blossoms. We'll have to take it out and find a sunnier spot for a replacement.
