During Mackie's clearing of the 'jungle' behind the garden house, he uncovered old tags belonging to the two (previously unidentified) apple trees planted along the wall. Although barely readable, they indicate the varieties are 'King of Pippin' and "Reinette', planted at the turn of the last century.
