Mackie is building a low wall to raise the height of the kerb alongside the Causeway. Hopefully, the next time the rainwater pours down the brae (see entry for 26 October), it will flow into the sea and not into our front courtyard. The roads department has finally cleared the drain pipe further up the hill which should divert most of the water from the top fields into the Chapel Burn and not past our house.
