We've had glorious sunshine this week — soon to come to an end, according to the weather forecast. It's been all hands out in the garden to weed, along with help from one dog exhibiting his terrier tendencies. (Bramley either sits directly in front of me on top of the weed I'm trying to remove or 'assists' by digging a hole alongside the spot where I've just dug myself.) One of the pleasures of weeding the long ericaceous border today was the scent of the last narcissi, the newly-planted azalea luteum and these lilacs.
