Now, this is a surprise!

We had another day of freezing fog with the countryside a winter wonderland —      no snow, just sparkling crystals of frost covering every branch and leaf. Just as the BBC's online weather forecast predicted, the noon-time temperature was a frosty -5ºC. With this level of accuracy, it comes as a surprise to see that tomorrow's forecast for a sand storm! Visions come to mind of the frosty and sandy foreshore of the Cromarty Firth rising to blow across the Daffodil Field and over the wall into our garden. We await the morning with a sense of anticipation!

P.S. The 2 January edition of the 'Ross-shire' contained the following item:
"A BBC spokesman apologised for the error, saying, 'There was an error in the data feed we received from the Met Office. We can assure people there will not be a sandstorm tomorrow!'"
