Waiting for a north wind
Waiting for a north wind Across the road from the bottom of our garden is a narrow strip of land separating us from the shore of the Cromarty Firth. In spring, it is a golden field of daffodils, replaced in summer by a vast purple sea of rosebay willow herb. Come late August, it turns into an invading army of fluffy seedheads waiting to make an aerial assault over our garden wall.
