Aberdulais Black Spot

Resulting from a report on the Neath Ferret website, we had a closer look at this area in Aberdulais, covered by Cllr Doreen Jones (right) and we found the following:-

The step leading to the underpass. The photos reflect lack of care and maintenance expected for an area listed in tourist guides.

Note the state of the lighting fittings.   Some are not working at all.

Note the state of the walls - a power-wash followed by a coat of paint would transform this underpass.

Questions arise:

• Does the access to this underpass conform to regulations?
• Is there a regulation for minimum illumination (lux)?
• Is this area inspected on a regular basis?
