New Dancer Info
The RSCSD page 'What is SCD?' should give you a feel for what SCD is about and some of the links to You Tube videos might also be of interest.
You don't need any fancy equipment or clothing to try SCD and you can come along on your own or with a friend or partner. Just wear comfortable clothing and bring soft flat shoes.
Our group operates a 'buddying' system for new dancers where they are paired with an experienced dancer to help them for their first few weeks. Thereafter, it's normal to swap partners for each dance.
We offer a free taster session for your first night.
If you are coming along for the first time you can just turn up or, even better, contact Susan beforehand and she can advise you of arrangements for that particular night. Subject to sufficient interest and support Susan will be pleased to give some additional tuition to beginners/improvers before the normal 7:30pm start time.
Many of our class don't confine their dancing to Fortrose SCD Group activities. There's loads of scope to do more by :-
- attending dance rallies organised by other dance groups (we usually try to share transport where possible)
- going to various weekend schools held throughout the country as well as both Summer and Winter schools organised by the RSCDS
- attending dance holidays both in the UK and abroad
See the links page for details.
If you have any queries Susan will be happy to give you additional information (phone 01381 621309 or e:mail email@example.com ).
