Basking Shark
Have you been bored recently?
If the answer is ‘yes’ then why not follow the example of a local friend who did something he’d never done before.
He stepped into his boat, started the outboard, headed halfway across the Sound of Sleat, and found himself a basking shark.
The creature was proceeding at an extremely leisurely pace through the water, slow enough in fact for our man to bring his boat right alongside.
He then picked up his boat hook and gave the shark a very gentle ‘prod’.
The creature, apparently, seemed totally disinterested in our man’s actions and continued it’s journey to wherever it was bound.
Our man then returned to shore, moored his boat, and poured himself a decent cup of coffee feeling thoroughly rejuvenated.
So if you’re ever bored in the Summer months why not go out in a boat and prod a basking shark – you know it makes sense!
