Unsolicited Phone Calls
Seem to be getting more of these recently, trying to sell everything from quadruple glazing to home insurance policies.
I’ve tried various responses but the best I’ve found is to ask them to ‘please hold the line’.
Then take the handset and place it beside the CD player and put on some music.
If they’re still there after 3 minutes pick up the phone and say ‘Your call is important to us, please hold the line.’
Go on, try it.
You know it makes sense.
Health Night
Apparently there was a good turn-out last night for the local health night.
Reminds me of the story of the new form of Viagra which you put in your tea.
It doesn’t improve your sex life but it stops your biscuit from going soggy.
