HISTORYWoolworths were not the first store to introduce their own record label.  Really from the outset of mass produced records, stores jumped on the proverbial bandwagon and introduced their own labels.  Below are some of the more worthy ones.  FRASCATI'S RESTAURANTA complimentary "78" given to the well-heeled customers of this famous restaurant.    GAMAGES 
 Above are two examples of the record label from Gamages, the famous Holborn Department Store.    PORTLAND Portland was a subsidary of Currys.  Note the label says Currys 1927 Lrd.    EMPIRE
