RITALIN: See AMPHETAMINES AND RELATED SUBSTANCES STEROIDS: This is a general term applied to Anabolic steroids, which are derived from the male sex hormone Testosterone. They are used to build up muscle tissue and provide extra strength. Steroids are banned from almost all competitive sports. VENUS NIGHTWORT This plant, reputed to give endurance and stamina, is also occasionally used for its supposed aphrodisiac powers. There are two identified active ingredients: Nightwortol is known to stimulate the adrenal and pituitary glands, while Octomorphase is an enzyme which breaks down the messenger chemicals which signal fatigue. Occasionally, this drug has caused withdrawal by athletes, particularly swimmers, embarrassed by its very visible effect upon the manly member. Female athletes, while not so conspicuously affected, should also steer clear of this substance. WITCHES’ EYE: A drug that is said to stimulate precognitive perception, it is sometimes used by goalkeepers hoping to anticipate the next shot at goal. However, Witches’ Eye interferes with logical thought processes and can cause spontaneous mystical episodes. Suffering from an unstable sense of reality, the keeper may attempt to block a ball which has not yet been kicked, or one which will not arrive until the next match. Witches’ Eye is only used extensively within remote areas of the Highlands and has not yet been banned. Its use is not recommended. Site Last Updated - 18/11/2010 18:23:36 | ![]() ![]() |
