angus dunn - author of writing in the sandAngus Dunn has worked in the circus; was a maths teacher in a Buddhist monastery in Nepal; worked for King Hussein of Jordan furnishing his new palace; planted trees; been a lumberjack and a fishing ghillie; ran a bakery in Kathmandu; been a radiographer, animator, graphic artist, fruit picker, beggar, set builder, storyteller, gardener, vegetarian chef, tattie picker, hypnotist, railway lineman, a transvestite cabaret singer in Dundee and a winkle picker... Only one of these is untrue, and he’s not saying which!


Winner of the Neil Gunn Competition (2002) and the Robert Louis Stevenson Award (1995) and author of numerous works of poetry and short fiction. His work has featured in many anthologies including Shorts – The Macallan/Scotland on Sunday Collection and been broadcast on BBC Radio 4, Radio Scotland and Loch Broom FM.
He has also served as the Writer in Residence for Aberdeenshire and the Scottish Sculpture Workshop.
