LEAGUE RULES

1.  Entrance fee to league £30 per team, to be paid in to the league secretary before start of  league if possible, but definitely before the end of the first half. Late league fees will result in a fine to be decided by the committee. Cheques to be made payable to  Willingham Darts League 

2.  New registrations to be noted on result card or phoned into the league secretary.

3.  Matches to be played on a Wednesday night unless by arrangement between the two teams. First noted to the league secretary.

4.  Teams of maximum nine male or female to play in 5 singles and 2 pairs, minimum number to play is five players.

5.  Games to be best two of three legs of 501 - straight start and double out. Order of throw to be decided by the toss of a coin, away side to call.

6.  Names to be drawn at 8.30 pm - 8.45pm. Five singles to be chosen by team captain and drawn. Two pairs to be drawn from any remaining players. If four players not available, additional players can be drawn at random from the five singles players.

7.  All matches to start between 8.30 pm and 9 pm

8. CANCELLATIONS of Games must be made 24 hours before the games due to be played.

9.  Loser of toss to throw first in the second leg. Toss again for third leg. AWAY TEAM calls on all tosses.

10.  The area covered is within a local radius of Willingham and outside the city boundary.

11. Matches to be decided by points- one point per game. Games can be rearranged by giving reasonable notice. All matches to be played. a spare night will be set aside at the end of each half for rearranged matches. You may play on a different night if both team agree. The game must be played before or on the  night set-aside at the end of each half. If the game is not played the committee will decide the outcome  and their decision will be final. This will usually be the team who failed to fulfill the fixture getting 0 points and the opposing team awarded 4 points.

IF A TEAM FAILS TO TURN UP WITHOUT GIVING 24 hours NOTICE TO THE OPPOSING CAPTAIN AND THE LEAGUE SECRETARY THEY WILL BE DEDUCTED 3 POINTS AND THE OPPOSING TEAM WILL BE AWARDED 4 POINTS

11. Any disputes will be settled by the league committee, whose decision will be final.

12. Matches to be played on boards of good condition and well lit by at least 2x100 watt bulbs.

13. League games controlled by captains. Competitions by stewards whose decision will be final.

14. If possible the result should be emailed to the league secretarty as soon as possible after the match is completed, copying the opposing team captain. Results cards to be still to be sent to the secretary in a timely manner. In the event of a league finishing with teams tied on points, then the league will decided by a play off on a neutral board.

15. Bulls eye to count as double 25 out.

16. Correct position of dartboard and throw:
 Board- 5’8’’ from the floor to the centre of the bull. 
Oche to be clearly marked at 7’91/4’’ the minimum throwing distance measured out from face of the board along the floor.

17. All teams to send in a registration sheet before the league starts. You may add to it during the season by marking on your result card or by phoning the league secretary.

18. Rules only to be changed at the AGM or EGM.

19. Under no circumstances must a player play twice in any singles matches. A player can only play twice if selected to play singles and pairs.

20. The league operates a 2 up, 2 down policy though the divisions as far as possible (depending on teams entering or dropping out of the league). New teams will start in the lower league, unless agreed at the AGM.

21. Competitions:  All players who entered, if of a high standard, should be playing most weeks, at least 2/3rds of the games in the league (secretary to use his discretion). If any player enters a competition and fails to turn up on finals night to play without good reason will be banned from entering any competitions the following season.

22. No fees refunded under any circumstances.

General Note; All Team Captains/secretaries make sure  your Landlord/landlady are  aware of the fixtures.

If you have any complaint concerning the game let the league secretary know as soon as possible after the Match. All teams are to make sure a table/seating is made available for the opposing team thank you.
