You can start putting in your early potatoes in from mid-march. Any earlier may catch the tail end of the frosts if your potatoes are poking through. Depending on the weather even mid-march is sometimes too early. It`s best to pile them up with earth. Also you can put onion sets in now. The winter ones that were put in suffered badly from the incessant rain.
