Care Inspectorate report 2016

We had an unannounced Care Inspection in December 2016. This was a very positive experience with really helpful feedback on ways to improve from our Inspector Patsy. These included more formal written planning to meet individual children's needs and more outdoor play. These have already been put in place. We scored 4 for the two areas inspected - quality of care and support and quality of environment which is good - but we will be going for 5s next time! We were delighted with some of the great feedback from parents:

"Toybox is an amazing childcare facility for all ages of children"

"An exemplary standard of care and attention is given to each individual child. It's like an extended family."

"Toybox is a role model! We love it!"

Summer 2016

This summer wasd the busiestwe have had with a 20% increase on the busy summer of 2015! We had an average of 14 children attending daily aged 6 months - 10 years old! We've had lots of arts and crafts activities going on and will hopefully get outside weather and midgies permitting! Unfortunately this year we have been unable to plan any trips away on the school bus as Highland Council have changed their driver requirements meaning only Highland Council employees can drive. We can still however access the school playing fields and numbers permitting the beach.

Toybox is 21! On 4th July 2014 Toybox held it's 21st Birthday party. We had loads of parents and children attending including one or two from our very early days. We'd like to thank Yasmeen from the Library for holding a great Bookbug session, Bruach Bakery for making our lovely cake and Jo for doing her juggling masterclass.

Easter Holidays 2014

These start on Friday 4th April - school back on Tuesday 22nd April. We will put out an activities planner nearer the time but do have Zoolab with their assorted animals coming to visit on Tuesday 8th April 11-12 noon - it's been a great success in the past!!

February half term

We've been busy with loads of fun activities including baking, messy play, puppet shows etc!

July 2013 Toybox was delighted to be awarded a grant of £10,000 from the Communities and Families Fund. This has helped us to purchase much needed new resources to support children's play, learning and development as well as outings, staff training and to update our computer making it easier to update the website! We'd like to thank the Scottish Government and BIG lottery Fund for their support. we also received a very nice letter of congratulations from local MP Charles Kennedy.

Toybox held it's A.G.M. on 9/9/13. We had a good turn out and have 6 dedicated committee members supporting the work of Toybox
