Area Entertainments

Sax, and the area around it has a lot to offer, and we will try to cater for young and old alike, both here in Sax and the local main town of Elda up to and including Alicante.

SAX

Sax is a small market town which trys to be considerate to both old and young, Spanish and Tourist alike, so there is a mixture of different events to take advantage of, there are numerous clubs in Sax which would take tourists in for the odd day, (To be pre-arranged) and more information will be provided in the Casita about this.

Sax boasts of a 25 meter indoor and outdoor swimming pool so it is open all year round, and the local swimming club makes use of this facility. There is a very modern ouddoor sports arena with football pitches, tennis courts, Bola's court (National Spanish Sport similar to squash) Running track, bar and BBQ area.

Sax Town is vibrant both day and night both winter and summer, there is so much going on in Sax, you could spend a year here and still miss some of the events that the town council put on for locals and Tourists alike.

Things kick off with January 5th, the "Three Kings Parade", this is the big event for the children, as this is their Christmas where the Three Kings parade through the town ending up at the Town Hall where the Three Kings dismount and hand out Christmas presents to the local children, the parade can last up to three hoursand the costumes are out of this world, a sight not to be missed.

Then from the 1st of Febuary til the 5th the town come's very much alive with the "Moors and Christians" fiesta, and events are held morning, noon, and night, for the duration of this main festival.

There is a Parade every evening from about 19:00 till late, there are re-enactments of the storming of the castle by the Moors and then later in the week, by the Christians re-taken the castle back from the invading Moors, I can recommend this if you have never seen a parade in your life that this one is not to be missed.

The Town of Sax is a five minute drive from the Casita, and has Markets (Monday's) Resteraunts, Bars, Theatre, gift shops, and town plazza which is in the centre of the Gran Via, (Main Street) and a wonderful Castle, which you will notice before you enter the town.
