The Costa Blanca

The Costa Blanca,  or "The White Coast", has 100 miles of coastline. The beaches and dunes take turns with rocks and cliffs creating a beautiful mixture of white, blue, brown and green colours. Due to these beautiful landscapes, a good location and friendly people, Costa Blanca has become increasingly popular.

When driving from Denia in the North  along the coastline down to La Manga, in the South ,or inland from Villena along small roads to Orihuela, the landscape changes rapidly. Some areas of Costa Blanca are very dry and some humid, thus resulting in a significant change of vegetation. On route beautiful shores and beaches change into majestic mountains.

The entire Costa Blanca has approximately 330 sunny days a year and the yearly average temperature is around 18 degrees Celsius. Thanks to gentle winds from the Mediterranean the weather at Costa Blanca is pleasant all year around.

Sax is situated about 50 Klms West of Alicante along the (31) Madrid motorway, which is about a 20 minute rby car inland.  There is easy access to the Beaches of Alicante, and the coastal roads to other tourist spots such as Benedorm.  The coastal resorts offer all year round entertainments and is sought after by the elderly tourists as a winter retreat.  You may click the map to the Right to see where we are situated.

Villena (pronounced Veeyena) is a large town famous for its leather goods, shoes, handbags, belts etc. Plenty of Bodegas for wine tasting. Moros y Cristianos fiesta 4-9 September.

Most restaurants in both these towns have a menu of the day (Menu del Dia), 3 corses & drink for around 7 - 10 Euros per person. Nearest airport Alicante El Altet 50km. Nearest beach is San Juan 50km. A hire car is recommended.
