ANNUAL SOCIAL MEMBERSHIP – May 2022-April 2023
The last 12 months has seen some big changes at Talbot Community Centre; starting from restricted services due to Covid-19 lockdowns through gradual re-opening to finally being able to host our customers as before the pandemic. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has remained supportive of us during these rapidly-changing times.
During this time, we have taken the opportunity to look at new ways to support Talbot Community Centre, including opening our doors to Bridgend Lifesavers Credit Union, introducing our first yoga sessions, welcoming a new fitness class twice a week and hosting Comets & Rockets, a group that supports young people in our area. We have even managed to offer a village-wide raffle at Christmas time and had our first day-trip in March 2022 to Hop Pocket Shopping Village. We have also been able to undertake some necessary repair work and expanding on our work redecorating the Centre. We hope you have had a chance to see the improvements and approve of them.
As you may be aware, membership subscriptions are due to re-open on 1st May for the upcoming year. We look forward to welcoming old Members back to the Community Centre as well as seeing some new faces. We are pleased to advise there will be no increase in the membership fees of £5.00 (less than ten pence per week). This includes benefits such as our members-only bingo sessions, reduced prices on trips and events and a £5 discount on room hire during the year. It is our intention in the coming year to look at offering more services to support our community as well as seeking funding to restore the front of the building to its original glory as a Grade II listed building.
