Cheshire Holiday

On 19th September 2016 members and friends had a 5 day holiday in Cheshire, organised by June (Chair lady).

We first headed for Coventry Cathedral for an organ concert and lunch. Afterwards then heading off to Warners Alverston Hall - a fantastic venue for our break with fabulous West End style shows each night. The food was amazing and we all put on a few pounds!

The next day was off to Chester with some people wanting to visit Chester Zoo, so a full day out.

After breakfast we were off to Liverpool, meeting Jonathan my expert guide. Next meeting at Port Sunlight then all the Liverpool sights: Albert Docks, The Cavern, Penny Lane and John Lennon’s House. It was a fabulous day out.

Next day was a rest day for my driver and we explored the hotel and its facilities. Also a lot of us went on a bus to Nantwich, a delightful place with lovely antiques square and market, small individual shops, a charming church coffee shop and a relaxed atmosphere with late summer flowers. Time then to journey back with our expert driver Mark to the hotel and get ready for dinner and a night of entertainment.

Friday morning, leaving for a visit to Stratford upon Avon. Stratford had a food festival with foods from all over the world. Many of our group headed off to the river or Theatre.  

The weather throughout was lovely sunny days. What a great week.
