Hidden Gems of Hampshire

by Unknown - 15:05 on 27 May 2015

The weather was perfect as we left Shepperton for Hampshire to see Gilbert White's House and Oates Museum. What a delightful visit it was.

The village was like a trip back in time with its village green, church and thatched cottages. It was a perfect setting with spring flowers everywhere.

The museum staff were very helpful and we had fantastic talk on arrival about Gilbert White the naturalist.

We left after lunch for a scenic drive to Frensham Ponds, a delightful spot where we all had a cream tea. We were also able to sit around the lake with some taking a glass of wine in the late afternoon whilst watching the wildlife; grebes, ducks, herons, swans many with young and martins dipping on the lake.

Blue skies and fluffy white clouds and hours of sunshine completed a perfect day out.
