Big Walks on Ben Wyvis

Apart from the usual route up An Cabar, to the summit and back by road two different routes have been made avoiding road walking.
The first chooses to follow ridges and is a well worked out high level ridge walk.
The second heads for the Big Cliff at An t Socach and climbs this steeply to the summit to return satisfyingly along the summit ridge.

The first high level Big Walk walk was by Gavin Meldrum who walked east one evening from Eileen Lodge in Glen Glass up onto the ridges to bivouac on the summit of Ben Wyvis then return the next day.
total time was about 12 hours

The next was by Ronald King who started from The Heights of Docharty north of Dingwall taking the track past Cioch Mohr to climb the Corrie at An t  Sochach onto the summit and return. There is a reasonably angled route through the steep stuff to make an interesting outing.
Total time about ten hours.

Note
Both of these routes involve difficult traverses across peat hags which can be ameliorated by care route selection. the maps are annotated to indicate these sections. Drop to the Loch on Gavin's route and follow the burn to approach An t Socach
