Benefits & Migrant Workers

by Craig Chapman - Party Leader - 09:15 on 22 January 2012

Boris Johnson certainly hit the common sense button this week when he said that many unemployed Brits need to take a good look at the energy that many overseas workers, especially in London, put into their work - and learn from it.

Boris is no supporter of the immigrant worker invasion lessening the number opportunities for young and part time British jobless, but he is savvy enough to appreciate how well many of the newcomers do these jobs and why so many employers are so keen to hire them.

Of course the main difference is that in many of countries where these guys and gals come from do not have endless welfare subsidies available which have made some Brits a bit lazy and soft, whilst of course, many of those who have come here for better paid work are actually working below their skill and education levels.

There are plenty of higher output Brits in work who put in huge amounts of energy and concentration and many of these economic immigrants are from that bracket of workers in their own countries, they simply earn better money for more menial tasks here than they would doing far more applied work in their homelands.

So, if we wish to improve as a nation, some of these benefits have to go and more people need to be employed in actually producing something of good for the nation, rather than being another cog in the leaky bucket of public monies syndrome.

We probably employ as many people to service the unemployed, as we have unemployed people in this country ! Utterly ridiculous, what a ludicrous nanny state we run.

Of course opportunist Eastern Europeans will flock here to take advantage of our unbalanced system, however a vast majority will think we're a bit mad to be in this position.

We get the never ending line of bleeding-heart-social-conscience-thought-police in our faces the second we suggest that we need to do better and focus on producing income for our nation rather than thinking up endless ways of giving it away. These people are truly in la-la land when it comes to basic economics.

The responsible thing for people to do is if you are employed by the public sector and have any sense of fair play, is to look at your job and consider - is my role adding to or taking away from our country ?  Then consider if there is a similar job you could take in the private sector. All the outrage over pension and job cuts suggest that many are too selfish to even consider this.

Of course, many public sector workers do a fantastic job for long hours and we do need numbers in so many positions, but right now the balance is wrong and really hurting our nation as a whole. People have to take responsibility and perhaps be a little less selfish.

The recent statistic that 360,000 migrant non-workers are claiming unemployment benefits is barely touching the tip of the iceberg. Why do all these statto quotes only cover only minuscule aspect of the costs involved ?

i) the unemployment benefit
ii) the supplement benefits
iii) the council tax benefits
iv) the additional housing, free schooling & healthcare, etc
v) the cost of paying benefits to the people who couldn't get these jobs - and their housing, schooling, healthcare, supplemented council tax, etc, etc, etc......

Now, can the Liberal morons who think that 360,000 is an outrageous figure for us to wave about, please come forward and discuss the whole cost of this situation before casting nasturtiums (read - compost).

Popular Alliance policies promote :-
i) a much smaller government
ii) a lot more people in jobs that contribute to the economy
iii) a vast reduction in welfare/unemployment hand outs and the entire cost of keeping people in this trap
iv) a completely revised approach to sustainability, both national and worldwide
v) taxation based upon the paying lower rates, the more you achieve. We certainly would not a have system where it pays to not work.
vi) we would also take the country out of the EU and only permit immigration based upon strict skills requirements

Update Monday evening - to the Asian woman on tonight's news, who demanded, "What about me ??" to know why her benefits should be cut below £26K (because it might mean her having to leave a nice area and not have so much to spend). Your selfish attitude does no hard working immigrant any favours by association, get off your selfish, greedy, lazy backside and earn enough money to live in that nice area. YOU DAMNED LEECH !!! The House of Lords (and a few mealy-mouthed Bishops) sounds like they needs a big kick up their leather-bound backside too, gin soaked tosspots !!
