Duke of Edinburgh vs Archbishop of Canterbury + Boris

by Craig Chapman - Party Leader - 14:18 on 21 November 2011

OK, I'll borrow a bit from Trevor Kavanagh at The Sun today, as he seems to pay close attention to some of my blogs. Quite frankly, as long as the opinions get out there (and we rarely differ) who cares, although it would be nice to be quoted in name from time to time.

The Archbishop and his cronies think that £500 / week for an umemployed family is tantermount to child killing !!

How about their Moms & Dads sitting on their jacksies all day being a failure of parental respsonsibilities, or having loads of children in order to live off the child benefit and demanding a bigger council house from the Woolies at the local Town Hall ?

As a working tax payer, its certainly not my responsibility to pay for those who wish to not work (and no that does not refer to all unemployed people, just the lazy ones who claim all they can). On yer bike 'Bish

A government's prime position is to provide the opportunity to work, earn and look after our families, only providing welfare for those absolutely unable to provide for themselves, its not a career opportunity. Recent government's have been short sighted, thinking only of keeping the votes with short-term decisions, which has resulted in a higher number out of work. Popular Alliance has policies to support British workers first, which in itself will improve many other issues. A UK government is not voted in to improve roads in Portugal and build modern factories in Slovakia which then take our contracts.

Mr Kavanagh is SO right when he paraphrases the Bible to suggest "Charity is a virtue, but it doesn't mean robbing the poor to pay for the idle." Christ Trevor, you've got my vote !!

Meanwhile Prince Philip hammers wind turbines for not even paying for themselves, let alone saving us money (crikey, that sums up the government too). Trevor's article did miss out the detail that most of the working parts are shipped in from Denmark and Japan, making a mockery of the carbon footprint issue.

Lastly, 3 cheers for Boris for swatting his Daveship regarding going soft on Germany and the Euro.

Plain speaking is what I understand and we hear far too little of it, for fear of upsetting Guardian readers and Town Hall Hitlers. Yes, No and Bugger Off are all we need and woe betide any yellow wuss who gets caught in the middle.

Popular Alliance views and policies agree with all 3 points wholeheartedly.

i) We believe that those claiming unemployment benefit for more than 3 months should be working for their local community to EARN their handouts. Hopefully they'll be too knackered when they get home to produce any more claiming offspring (We'd stop child benefits after the 2nd child too).

ii) We have numerous more efficient and long term methods of producing clean energy for our nation's future - wave power, local mill power, house wind turbines, lower costs on residential solar power equipment and we'll even invest in maglev technology. All UK based industries working in these areas will get tax relief and government backing, whilst all government departments will be instructed to only purchase UK-made euqipment where available.

I recall a visit to the Rover factory in Birmingham approx 1 year before it closed. Less 25% of the cars parked at the factory were Rovers. If the workers couldn't be bothered to buy their own products at knock-down prices, then they don't deserve the jobs. All councils, transport depts, police forces and military should use UK-made vehicles where at all possible. The cost of not doing so goes far beyond one factory closing - hinterland supplies and services, unemployment costs, etc etc etc....

iii) Of course we should avoid the Euro and The EU altogether. Hey Boris, come and join us, you can be party leader and PM if you like !!
